Day 39: Bidi Bidi Bom Bom

Thursday, March 10, 2011:

Late at night when all the world is sleeping, I stay up and watch movies. Tonight it was Selena. I remember my best friend from across the street, Stephanie, would come to my house every day and we'd lock ourselves in my room and sing and dance to her CD. Especially this song.

Day 38: Burning Down the House

Wednesday, March 9, 2011:

Today I went out with my mom to my favourite place to eat, Red Robin. Yes, I am a cheap date. You will win me over with Red Robin burger and fries (and the smoothies! Mmm.). While we sat there talking and laughing a bit. This song came on the radio and I did my usual burst into dance and sing along. I guess you could say I'm not a classy date either. Love this song.

Day 37: Viridian City

Tuesday, March 8, 2011:

Today, I'll bring out the nerd in me a little more. As some of you fellow nerds may know, the new Pokemon Black and White just came out this Sunday. I've been looking forward to this game for a while now. Due to me constantly burying myself in more social things, I've yet to play it until today. Every time I hit a route to another town, I can't help but sing a song from a Pokemon soundtrack I got when the original 150 came out. I kept singing "Viridian City". It's completely wrong! I haven't been on the road to Viridian City in years. I'm so out of date. I'm a Pallet towner from Kanto... such a nerd.

Day 36: Blue Monday

Monday, March 7, 2011:

This song is from quite possibly my favourite artist. I discovered their existence them a month or two ago. Today, after not eating for over 48 hours, I went out with my friend, Danielle, to get some food. We went to the store and walked out with velveeta macaroni, gushers, and blue jello. I know, it's a very random combination, but due to our stomachs not feeling right probably due to lack of sleep and substantial substances in our stomachs, it was all we could handle. The most satisfying bit of what we bought was the blue jello. Which brings me to the song of the day.

Like I said, they may just be my favourite artist. I highly suggest you check out their stuff. They are mind blowing.

Day 35: The Green Grass Grows All Around

Sunday, March 6, 2011:

So it has been a long past few days. For some reason, I keep singing this song. Maybe if I put it as a song of the day, it will stop being stuck in my head.

Day 34: Hello

Saturday, March 5, 2011:

Today was insane. So I was finally going to put my red and white outfit that I've been dying to wear to use. My friends and I have been planning on going to this trance/dubstep event in San Francisco. We get there and we find that the date on the flyer was wrong and the event was actually last night. (Shit!) So we drive around for hours trying to find a club or something of the dancing sort since we're in the city and already dressed up. Every place we went to didn't seem worth it (is it just me or are a lot of clubbing people crabby?). We did end up finding a party in the city in the end and having a grand old time, but what a crazy and unexpected adventure. We spent many hours in that car with a mix CD that my friend, Max, prepared for us especially for this trip. If you haven't guessed already, that CD was played over and over again so I got really familiar with the songs. This being my favourite.

Day 33: My Clock Explodes

Friday, March 4, 2011:

Tonight I was out with friends for our regular weekly gathering. Sometime into the night and I noticed that when I was talking, my voice began to crack and become raspy. The rasp increased as the night went on. This brought up the discussion about how raspy voices can sometimes be quite attractive (not the type of raspy I'm having. I just sounded sick.). Then I brought up Olive's voice, from the band Aeon Now as an example of said attractive voice. I pulled out my handy dandy smart phone and played this video.

I saw them perform live a couple times in Berkeley about a year ago. After their first show, I was instantly intrigued. I didn't want to lose sight of their progress. Check them out! They will be going on their "Clockwise Tour" this year so if they end up in your area, do go out and see them.

OH HAYYY!
They're on my "Artists I Support" list.

Day 32: My Head Feels Like a Frisbee

Today I introduced myself to the radness that is Shpongle. Not much more to elaborate on. Just prepare for a mind-fuck.

Day 31: Knock on Wood

Wednesday, March 2, 2011:

Today my mom made an appointment to get her oil changed on her car and she asked me to come with her and keep her company while they were doing it. On the drive over there, we noticed that her breaks were making a terrible grinding sound. I said that it sounded like thunder. Then I busted out into the song "Knock on Wood". Then after we dropped the car off, we walked to the cinema and saw a movie. After the movie, we came across a thrift store. I can't help myself when it comes to thrift stores. I automatically darted for it. As we were looking around and having fun with gold over shirts and bright red boots, "Knock on Wood" plays on the radio. Of course I began singing along with my fantastic finds that I reluctantly had to release due to my low funds at this present time. It was a fantastic and silly shopping experience.

Day 30: Alien Workshop

Oh my goodness! I'm about a month into this project! I have to say after my last failed book project, I'm pretty damn impressed.

Anyway today's song is inspired by a dream I had yet again. Last night I had a dream that I was in the city with my friends. We were standing on the balcony of an apartment watching the stars. They were sparkling so brightly that they seemed like they were exploding! Then a few colourful shooting stars streamed through the sky. We were amazed and romanced. Then it seemed like two big stars were coming closer to not only us, but each other. Then we realized that they weren't stars, but spaceships. They faced each other and just floated there for a while. Then they began to fire and real explosions began. It was chaos. I remember specifically thinking that the day of judgement had finally came. I just stood there thinking... they were right... they were actually right... which means... am I going to hell?... maybe I deserve it.

This dream was very unnerving and I didn't even remember having it until I was in the car with my mother today. I was looking at the night sky and I notice a plane flashing by. Then I noticed my mom's christian music in the background and it all came back to me. What a strange coincidence.

I felt it right to have a song that at least mentioned aliens.
